poster
Do you intend to participate in World Youth Day 2005? Are you connected with Don Bosco and his movement? So come to the Don Bosco Club in Colognes district Mülheim on Wednesday, August 17, 2005: The Salesian Family invites you to their gathering Don Bosco weltweit in the afternoon of that day.
Beginning at 2 pm (14:00) we will have a youth culture festival - participating groups will present themselves by a cultural contribution of their country (please [Link] inform us before preparing such a contribution).
At 4 pm (16:00) a main (central) program of about 2 hours will start: It will comprise a few words of welcome by representatives of the international Salesian family, a moment of prayer (Via lucis) and an action of solidarity with young people in need. The German band [Link] Patch Work will accompany our (international) songs and present their own from 2 pm to 8 pm (14:00 - 20:00).
If you want to announce "Don Bosco weltweit" you may use the [Link] poster (see left) which we have prepared in various languages.

How to find us Please take a look at our page [Link] maps and directions.

Registration
for World Youth Day 2005
All participants must register for WYD 2005 in the usual way at the WYD office in Cologne. You will find information about the registration process on the [Link] official web site of WYD 2005 in various languages. Without a registration we are unable to ensure accomodation, food and transport. Of course we will be pleased if salesian groups preparing to participate in WYD 2005 additionally [Link] inform us about their intentions.

Volunteer now!
...at World Youth Day
The WYD office is looking for about 20.000 volunteers. They are invited to stay between one and four weeks in Cologne during August 2005 and will provide services like meal distribution, organizational help, personal assistance at information points or work as leaders and trainers of volunteer teams. The registration of volunteer groups is especially needed. The great experience of international team work is completed by sufficient time to participate in World Youth Day activities. Free accomodation, food and transport within Cologne will be provided. Informations about the registration are provided and the registration will be done on the website [Link] "Volunteer now!" of the WYD 2005 office. Attention: the inscription period has finished on May 31st!

WYD Volunteers are also welcome at the Youth Center Don-Bosco-Club, especially for the meeting Don Bosco weltweit. It is possible (and we invite you) that volunteers register officially at the WYD Office (see above) announcing that they like to help in the salesian parish St. Antonius Köln-Mülheim (parish no. 131-0) and there especially in the meeting on August, 17. Obviously "normal" WYD participants (and even other persons) are also welcome as volunteers on that occasion. A good knowledge of languages (possibly including German or English) will be helpful. In any case we ask you to get in [Link] contact with us as soon as possible.

Accomodations
in Salesian houses and parishes
Several reasons have convinced us to offer all our accomodation to the WYD office. Therefore all groups have to ask for accomodation during the registration process. If you [Link] tell us your group number received during the registration, we can ask the WYD to give you accomodations in one of our parishes or institutions, but there is no guarantee that such preferences can be acceded to.

Days of Encounter
in the dioceses of Germany
From August, 11 to 15, i.e. immediately before WYD 2005, all German dioceses (except the archdiocese of Cologne) invite young people to experience the reality of society and Church in Germany and the lifestyle of Christians and Non-Christians in this country. Each diocese prepares its own programme for the Days of Encounter. In this way you will discover the regional characteristics. The programme will comprise visits, celebrations, liturgies, and a variety of activities, excellent opportunities to know each other. If you want to get more information about how the various dioceses plan their Days of Encounter, have a look at their special WYD 2005 homepages (cf. "Links" on [Link] www.wjt2005.de). If you would like to visit a Salesian institution in one of the dioceses, please do not hesitate to [Link] contact us.
